Green – spirulina powder

7,00 €

Spirulina – A silvery dark green, clear cool tone. Due to its aroma, spirulina is a challenge to combine in desserts and cake decorations, but the beautiful tone is absolutely fantastic, practically irreplaceable for depicting green leaves and needles in decorations, giving the characteristic blue-green shade. Pronounced pond-like aroma (when adding to creams or glazes, it is recommended to flavor with peppermint or rosemary extract), sweet taste with a slight pea-like aftertaste – best suited for dishes with plenty of sour berries (e.g., berry smoothies) or savory dishes with the addition of fragrant greens.

100% plant-based powders suitable for use in cakes, creams, glazes, cookies, ice creams, cocktails, and other sweet and savory dishes. Also suitable for adding to chocolate and brush decorating. The very fine and even grind allows these powders to be used in creams and glazes that will be used for decorating with a pastry tip – the powders disperse evenly in the mass without forming graininess or lumps. High quality ensures an unusually bright and stable tone for natural colors, even when adding a relatively small amount of powder (compared to homemade or commonly available natural food colorings).

Usage and storage.
Pastel tones are achieved by adding 1-2 tsp. (2-6g) of powder to approximately 500g of mass, intense tone – to 50-200g of mass. These powders are also suitable for people with milk/lactose intolerance, vegetarians, vegans, and children. Do not use if you have an allergy or intolerance to the respective plant. Store in a dark, dry place in a closed container. Protect from sudden temperature fluctuations and do not store near a constant heat source (e.g., near radiators).

Natural color specifics.
Natural powders usually have a smell and taste. They can be flavored with food essences (e.g., peppermint) if you want to change or mask the taste. Fruit powders will give products a pleasant taste and acidity. Powders can be mixed into a small amount of vodka before adding to the mass (to form a “paste”) – the tone will intensify. When mixed into a larger amount of vodka, you can draw lines and contours with a brush, coloring similar to watercolors (alcohol evaporates quickly – there will be no alcohol in the final product). Sometimes the tone may change as a result of heating (e.g., when baking dough products with added powders or heating in microwaves). Also, do not leave the powder or colored product in bright direct sunlight for a long time. Powders can be mixed with each other, but the resulting tone may differ from mixing synthetic colors, so it is recommended to first test with a small amount of the mass to be colored to make sure the new tone is satisfactory. The tone is also affected by the color of the mass itself, for example, coloring a yellow mass (butter/margarine) with pink will create a warmer shade than mixing it into a white mass (e.g., cottage cheese). It is advisable to mix creams or glazes with powders at least 3 hours before decorating and prepare masses lighter than the desired final result, as the powders absorb gradually and the final intensity appears after time.
