Heat a little oil in a pot (preferably one with a thick base).<br \/>\n2. Drop a few kernels into the pot.<br \/>\n3. When they pop, add the rest of the kernels, evenly covering the bottom of the pot.<br \/>\n4. Put the lid on, remove the pot from the heat, and wait 30 seconds. This way, the rest of the kernels will warm up to the right temperature and will start popping at about the same time when you put the pot back on the heat.<br \/>\n5. Put the pot back on the heat. When the kernels start popping, gently shake the pot every now and then. Keep the lid slightly ajar to let the steam out (the popcorn will be drier and crunchier).<br \/>\n6. When the popping interval is several seconds, remove the pot from the heat and pour into a large bowl.<br \/>\n7.
