Pau D’Arco bark \u2013 a source of strength and vitality<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pau D’Arco grows in South America, where it’s known as the \u201cdivine tree that gives strength and vitality.\u201d It earned the name \u201cAnt Tree\u201d because its branches have many hollows where ants love to live. The most valuable part is the inner bark, which contains concentrated bioactive substances like lapachol and xylodine, as well as many flavonoids. Pau D’Arco is considered a natural antibiotic that \u2013 unlike traditional antibiotics \u2013 doesn’t damage your immunity. Instead, it acts much smarter by activating your body’s defenses to fight pathogens and increasing resistance to various infections. The indigenous people of Mexico and Peru already knew about and highly valued the healing properties of this bark, and they were the ones who named it the divine tree. The bark is harvested from a living tree, and it grows back quite quickly. Only the inner bark is used for healing, as the rest doesn’t contain such valuable substances. In some regions of South America, Pau D’Arco trees live for up to 700 years. <\/p>\n

*The most important substance in the bark is lapachol \u2013 it has an antibacterial effect, stopping the growth and reproduction of unwanted microorganisms (this also applies to staphylococci, streptococci, and brucella).<\/p>\n

*Pau D’Arco bark is effective against the flu, herpes virus, SARS, and other viruses. It also inhibits the growth of fungi. <\/p>\n

*The bark has anti-parasitic properties, stopping parasites from multiplying by creating unfavorable conditions they cannot survive in.<\/p>\n

*Tea and preparations made from the bark lower blood pressure, soothe, promote digestion, reduce inflammation, heal insect bites, and strengthen overall immunity. In its homeland, it’s considered an effective tool for tumor prevention. <\/p>\n

Pau D’Arco bark tea<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pour 1 l of water over 2 tsp of crushed bark and boil for 5 minutes. Then, let it steep for 15 minutes. Drink 1 l per day (for a maximum of 6 weeks, followed by a 4-week break). <\/p>\n

Pau D’Arco bark tincture<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Fill half of a small jar with crushed bark.<\/p>\n

2. Cover with 40% vodka so that all the bark is well submerged.<\/p>\n

3. Put the lid on and leave at room temperature for 2\u20136 weeks. Shake occasionally. <\/p>\n

4. Then strain and pour into a dark bottle (can be stored for ~1 year).<\/p>\n
