Description
Guinea pepper, also known as Ethiopian, African, or Paradise pepper, is a natural product found in Central and West Africa. It consists of small, oval, pinkish berries in a pod. The dried berries have a peppery, slightly bitter, sharp taste and a spicy aftertaste, with culinary enthusiasts also noting sweet spice notes of mace, coriander, and cinnamon. These peppers are widely used by locals in traditional West African dishes.
HOW TO USE: Add Guinea pepper to your dish at the beginning of cooking. It’s great in soups, stews, fish and meat marinades, sauces, and liver dishes.
MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: Try sprinkling a few slices of fresh goat cheese with crushed Guinea pepper and thyme, then drizzle with olive oil. Enjoy with a slice of freshly baked bread.
