Description
Hops are mostly known as a beer ingredient, yet they have long been used for various purposes like herbal infusions, decoctions, tonics, and teas. Both hop stems, leaves, and flowers are used. They add a bitter, aromatic note to drinks and are also used to create a brown dye.
This herb is rich in essential oils (1-3%). It also contains vitamins C, B1, B3, E, and others, flavonoids, alkaloids, bitters, resins, wax, and glycosides that provide a calming effect, improve digestion, and help with fluid retention. Hops help you relax and induce sleepiness, so they’re often used in sleep pillows with lavender and dill.
USAGE: Hops are used in various drinks where a bitter, aromatic note is desired.
MANASGARSAS.LV RECOMMENDATION: Try making a relaxing hop tea! If you want a more diverse herbal blend, let us add chamomile, linden blossoms, peppermint, dandelion flowers, lemon balm, ginger, lime blossoms, or cardamom pods – it’s your choice!
