Hawaiian Red Alea Red Salt in a Large Decorative Test Tube

7,50 €

This unrefined sea salt gets its rosy-brown hue from mixing with Hawaiian volcanic clay (“alea”) and boasts a high iron oxide (FeO2) content. Saltwater is evaporated in rock or mountain rock pools that naturally contain iron oxide, creating large, rusty-colored salt crystals. This salt contains 80 different naturally occurring minerals, including potassium and magnesium.

Alea Red salt is a significant product in local cuisine and beyond – Hawaiians have used this salt for years to clean utensils and consecrate their temples and homes.

It’s worth noting that a large portion of Alea Red salt is produced in California, not sourced from the Hawaiian Islands. Authentic Alea Red is expensive and sometimes hard to find outside of Hawaii. However, we are proud to offer our customers an original product from Molokai Island, also known as the Friendly Island, located in the vast Hawaiian archipelago.

100 g of Alea Red salt contains: 99.5 g sodium chloride (including 39 g sodium and 60.5 g chlorine); 1420 mg/kg sulfur; 0.059 g calcium; 0.16 g magnesium; 0.11 g potassium, and other macro- and microelements.

HOW TO USE: Thanks to its captivating vibrant color and bright flavor nuances, Hawaiian red salt is a favorite among countless chefs. It perfectly complements roasted, grilled, and stewed meats, grilled vegetables, soups, and fish dishes.

MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: We recommend sprinkling this exclusive salt over freshly prepared chocolate desserts or ice cream. When making homemade chocolate candies or truffles with dried fruits, berries, or nuts, sprinkle a tiny bit of Alea Red salt over the finished treats to enhance their rich flavor!
