Description
Carob beans are rich in protein (approx. 8%), natural sugar, vitamins A, D, some B-group vitamins, magnesium, calcium, iron, and other minerals. Today, they are ground into a powder used as a chocolate substitute. The beans are rich in fiber but very low in fat. They contain neither caffeine nor theobromine. The powder obtained from the beans is naturally sweet, similar to chocolate in taste. You can use it in drinks and confectionery. The powder dissolves well in both warm and cold water.
HOW TO USE: Include Carob Beans in recipes where you would otherwise add chocolate or cocoa!
MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: Roast oats in butter and sugar, add a beaten egg, finely crushed carob beans, and bake oat cookies!
