Timut, also known as Nepalese peppercorns, are relatives of Sichuan peppercorns. They belong to the natural lemon pepper family and are primarily sourced in Nepal and Tibet. They aren’t burning hot like many black peppercorns you might know. Timut peppercorns have a refreshingly cool, peppery taste with a characteristic grapefruit aroma. Pepper lovers also detect notes of cinnamon and rose in these peppercorns.
HOW TO USE: The amazing flavor of Timut peppercorns will surprise you if you add them to all kinds of fish dishes, seafood in general, and vegetable dishes – grilled, steamed, or fresh. Feel free to add these peppercorns to exotic fruit desserts too. Mix ground Timut peppercorns into melted butter and add to steamed wild rice or mashed potatoes.
MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: Try making a fantastic marinade for chicken from ground Timut peppercorns, a little coarse sea salt, and garlic.
