A tropical plant in the ginger family, turmeric is widely used as both a spice and a medicinal herb. Yellow and green dyes are obtained from its rhizomes. In small amounts, it adds a mild, pleasant flavor, but in larger quantities, it becomes sharp and pungent.

Turmeric is incredibly beneficial! It boasts powerful antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

USAGE: Add turmeric to egg dishes, sauces, and seafood, or use it in broths. Since it’s much more affordable than saffron, its vibrant color makes it a popular choice for spice blends, as well as for coloring butter and homemade cheese.
