Description
Resembling small cones, these long or Bengali peppers are now found wild in Bali, Indonesia, and Thailand. They’re undeservedly rare in European cuisine! Taste-wise, they’re similar to black pepper but with a stronger aftertaste. You can use Bengali peppers in virtually the same recipes as black pepper. Since ancient times, long peppers have also been used in medicine for treating headaches, toothaches, asthma, bronchitis, coughs, and even diarrhea.
USAGE: For meat, fish dishes, vegetables, soups, legumes.
MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: Pickled vegetables for winter will look super decorative when you add Bengali peppers instead of black pepper!
