Description

Birch sugar, also known as xylitol, is a natural sugar alcohol found in vegetables, fruits, and the bark of various trees. This sugar is made from Finnish birch and beech trees. The production process is complex: finely chopped wood is mixed with water, purified, filtered, and concentrated until the xylitol is separated. It’s incredibly delicious, with a unique cooling sensation that melts quickly in your mouth.

It only slightly raises blood glucose levels, making it safe for diabetics. The glycemic index of birch sugar is just 7! It’s not recommended for children under 3, and adults should introduce it to their diet gradually, as xylitol can have a laxative effect.
