Description
Japanese lemon pepper is also known as Sichuan or Szechuan pepper, or Chinese coriander. These lemon peppers are widely used in Chinese, Tibetan, Indian, and Nepalese cuisine.
Japanese lemon pepper is a close relative of Nepal or Timut pepper—similar in taste, yet with a noticeable difference. The flavor notes of these peppers aren’t comparable to black, white, or chili peppers. Japanese pepper causes a slight numbness on the tip of your tongue, creating a sensation of cold and tingling caused by the simultaneous stimulation of many receptors.
Japanese pepper will add an unusual flavor and expressive aroma to fish dishes, drinks, desserts, and even teas.
