Turmeric (ground)

Description

A tropical plant in the ginger family. Turmeric is widely used as both a spice and a medicinal herb. Its rhizomes produce yellow and green dyes. In small amounts, it adds a mild, pleasant flavor, but in larger quantities, it’s sharp and pungent.

Turmeric is an incredibly valuable product! It has strong antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

USAGE: Add turmeric to egg dishes, sauces, and seafood, or use it in broths. Being much cheaper than saffron, its vibrant color is used in spice blends and to color butter or homemade cheese.
