Description
The unique, specific aroma of valerian comes from the root, as the flowers and leaves have almost none of this sweet scent. This plant has long been known as a sedative – it reduces fear, anxiety, restlessness, and nervous tension, while improving sleep. Valerian root is also used for gastrointestinal muscle spasms, as well as to promote the secretion of enzyme-rich digestive juices, dilate blood vessels, and lower blood pressure.
USAGE: To prepare beneficial valerian root tea, it’s usually recommended to use one teaspoon of dried roots and one cup of water – and boil for 10 minutes.
MANASGARSAS.LV RECOMMENDATION: Feel free to experiment and create your own special evening calm tea recipe by combining valerian root with lavender flowers, linden blossoms, and, for example, red clover flowers – we’ll make it for you!
