Description
Baharat – Arabic for “spice”, primarily used in Middle Eastern cooking, especially in the Mashriq region. It is also a popular spice blend in Turkish, Iranian, and Israeli cuisine. While the composition varies by region and family tradition, essential ingredients include black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, and cloves.
USAGE: Baharat adds warmth, sweetness, and depth to your dishes – we recommend adding it to soups, tomato sauces, pilaf, lentils, and couscous. Use the Baharat blend for fish, chicken, lamb, or any other meat. Mix olive oil with Baharat for a spicy vegetable salad marinade.
MANASGARSAS.LV TIP: Try adding half a tablespoon of Baharat blend and half a teaspoon of salt to 4 tablespoons of butter – you’ll get an aromatic spiced butter!
